I am submitting I-485 along with EAD application. My attorney told me that there is no need to submit the EAD signature/fingerprint card alogwith form I-765(EAD application). I noticed that on the instruction for I-765, the EAD fingerprint/signature card is a required document! I am confused. Can anyone who recenly got EAD kindly elaborate on this. Thanks in advance.

From my experience and what I have learnt from asking
lawyers and others -

The signature card is required to be submitted with
I485 BUT the fingerprint on it is no longer needed.

It would be better if somebody else verifies this too.

I have recently filed AOS/EAD/AP applications. My lawyer did not ask to put fingerprints on the signature card as well.

Thanks,

Samir

But this site EAD description says we need EAD signtaure card.
Can some one give clarification?

1. After filing for AOS, how long did it take to get EAD?
2. Will you be able to change job 181 days after filing for AOS?

Relax! The fingerprints are not required on the documents. After you file the papers, you will get a call from the INS when you will have to go personally to record your fingerprints.

It usually takes about 2-3 months for EAD/AP.

As per the new laws, you can change your job after 180 from filing of AOS. However, how the INS interprets these laws is still not known. The interpretation will be released in April. So until then, nothing can be said for certain. Anyway, April is round the corner...
