Is B-1 visa necessary if TN renew is denied?

If my TN renew for some reasons is denied, do I need to apply for B-1 visa for legally staying in the U.S. ?

I came to U.S. for job just with my canadian passport without B-1 visa. and I also has been told that Canadina citizen can freely cross the border to the U.S. for travelling without B-1 visa...

Anybody could anser me?

You can enter under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) for "Tourism Only" for up to 90 days at a time (it can not be extended).

If you plan on staying longer, you should apply for a B-2 visa.

You do not "enter freely" though, you are subject to immigration inspection as well as customs check and whether you will be allowed in or not depends on the immigration officer at the POE.
