I am a US citizen and have filed I-130 for my spouse and now it seems like it is going to take forever for the visa approval. Is there any other way by which I can bring my spouse (an Indian citizen) here and then worry about the green card here. Even if there is a way, is it advisable?

Once again, it took me 7 and half months for the approval of the petition. I applied the 2/1/00 and it was approved on 9/12/00. See what happens. I had the same options as you did. Since you have already applied just stick with it. You will only find trouble with the alternatives. It will be over soon.
