Do you need to have the original copy of the approval letter of visitor's visa extension when you re-enter? My mom lost hers, but I printed out something from the uscis website that the application was approved. would that be enough?

Original letter is not always required, but in case they ask for it, you need to show it.

If you don't have the letter, just carry what you have and hope for the best. It is very subjective.
