SSN not assigned

I have my EAD card and today I received my SS card in the mail today. I went ahead and opened a bank account. This afternoon the bank called and said when they done a credit check on my SSN it came back " SSN not assigned by SSA".
I rang SSA and they stated that they only send cards out so my card is good and I should have my reciept from the local office when I applied, again I do.

Any ideas as to why the check the bank came back with had a problem?
Will this affect me getting employment if possible employers do a check on my SSN?

Check with the bank where they did your credit check.

It is possible that credit bureaus didn't receive any information yet regarding your newly assigned SSN.

Check with the credit bureau your bank used.

Or try different bank.
