Citizenship for US born babies

Hi,

We are planning for a baby. We donot want to settle in US.We will go back to India after 1 year. If we plan a baby here will it get Indian citizenship ? or is it safe to plan when we go back to India. Because we donot want our child to be as NRI in India.
Can any one help us with this issue.
