H1B Contract

I have a contract with my employer that I will not join my client for atleast 1 year of leaving the consulting organization. After my H1 term expires, am I free of my contract?
I mean after 6 years, when my H1b is finished, can I come to US from canada on TN visa and work for my client.

The contract/non-compete is not dependent on visa status. If your employer finds out, they can always sue, if there was a violation.
