hi I am currently on H4 and would like to obtain a H1.I am not from a technical background but have 3.5yrs of experience in insurance.It would be great if someone could advise me with the best possible ways to obtain a work permit.I stay in austin texas and would also like to know if there are any consultant in this area to help me out.

The H1b filing season for fiscal year starts April 1st. You have to wait until next year before anything can be done to get a cap subject H1b.

If your job matches your background and you have a bachelors degree, a H1b can be sponsored by the employer that has the job for you.

thanks for your prompt reply however I am already aware of this.What I would need to know is whether there is any consultant around this area who could help me out and provide training to widen the chances getting the work permit?
