Do I need a N-400 OR I-485??

Hey Everyone,

I have an approved I-130 and the office told me the next step is the I-485 but I was wondering if this really is the case? Do I need to file the I-485 or can I use the N-400?

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm all confused as to which is the best way to go to be allowed to stay in the US with my US Husband!

I-485 is to become a permanent resident.
N-400 is to become a citizen.

You need to be a resident for 3-5 years before you can become a citizen, so you need I-485 first.
