Hi,
My wife leaves for India for 5 months right after her interview, re-scheduled on August 25th.
I was able to get her interview re-scheduled for this purpose (originally scheduled September 26th).
If she is offered to be sworn in on the same day, does she become a citizen on the same day and have to relinquish her Indian passport?
It will not be possible for her to get a new US passport and give up her Indian passport in the short 5 days she has after the interview. The only way out is to request deferral of the oath ceremony attendance till such time she returns in Jan 2009
could anyone give any guidance or suggestions please on the best way forward.
