Utter confusion - H1 renewal and H4 visa

My current H1B visa is still valid until January '09, but my extension has been applied and has been approved , So I would like to get the renewal visa along with my wife's H4 visa, next month, at Chennai consulate.

Issue is this. #6 under this link has put me under little confusion.



1. Am I not qualified for visa renewal now, because my wife is appearing for H4?
2. Am I still qualified for visa renewal , but cannot add my wife under Co-workers/family at the end of my application? Which means that her application should be completed separately?
3. Am I still qualified for visa renewal, but apply under normal H1B and NOT as renewal and still can add my wife at the end of the application??

I am really really confused...pls let me know asap

Please advise on how to apply through VFS. I already have paid the Visa fees for both of us. thanks

I don't understand what your confusion is about. You may probably not renew your visa if the H1b is valid for more than 6 months. If you changed employers or have got a renewal, you could still renew your visa.

What is the complication? Be specific.
