Hello,

I applied for naturalization May 13 this year, by then I was not married so I put a check by the "single" box for marital status, then I received a notice for interview on Aug 29,2008 two weeks after the N-400was sent.

I got married on Aug 5,2008, and now I am worried about not being "single" on the interview date.

1.Will the interviewer think I was trying to lie or anything like that?

2.Will marital status change has any influence?

3.should i tell the interviewer this change in advance or went along till he/she asks?

Please help me.

If you got married after the N-400 was sent, then take your marriage certificate and tell the IO who interviews you on the interview date to update your file. Tell him and show him you were married after you sent the application. If your N-400 is not based on 3 years married to US citizen, you have nothing to worry about.

Humans are suppose to marry...:p

thank you very much for your response.
I have just been married for a bit over 2 weeks, and the process for obtaining marriage certificate takes 5-10 days, so i will try to request for a copy but i really doubt if it will get here on time(since i only have less than 5 days left till my interview) :)

thank you again
