What if company shuts down between I-140 approved and CP?

Given the economy, my company might crater anytime resulting in everyone looking for another job.

My I-140 got approved recently and we expect a CP date in September-October (or later). What if our company shuts down between now and then?

Anyone with any ideas or heard any past similar episodes ?

This is just a guess.

I think all you need from the company for CP is notarized employment letter. So, get it before it shuts down..hopefully it's good enough. Don't get it too early either consulate officer may give problem. Talk to your lawyer soon.

If you have started your lc or I140 before April 2001 and you have been in U.S on Dec 21st 2000, You can file for AOS using 245i law (LIFE act) which recently had amendments. Please verify with your lawyer who is currently processing your GC.
