Hi,

Currently I am in US, came here on deputation from an Indian IT company and will have to work here for a long period. My family is in India(Kerala) and I have a new born(Born in India) child just 2 months old and he does not have Indian passport. When I enquired at passport office in India(kerala), they told me to produce some authorization letter from Indian Embassy in US.

Could someone advice me how I can get this letter ? what is procedure for getting this letter ? Can I apply through online for getting this letter ?

Greatly appreciated if someone can help me...

Thanks in advance,

Regards,
Rajesh

Visit the website of Indian consulate near by your place. this particular letter for passport comes under Misleaneous services.

when applying for minor's passport both parents must sign a declaration and produce the passports in the counter. so when one parent is abroad , we can;t produce passport. In india itself there is a way for this. you need to get letter from magistrate saying that one parent is abroad . but it;s easy to get here in US than getting the court order in india.

You can get required information indian embassy website.
