Hi All,

I am from Mumbai. I am working as a software consultant in New York. I am having some health problems due to cold weather in New York. I want to find the place to live in USA with warm weather something like Mumbai and Pune.
I have two children and they would be very comfortable to live in a community where lot of Indians live. We would also like to enjoy the freedom of going out as we do in New York especially in Summer and good transportation system.

As an IT consultant I would prefer the place where I can find the IT projects nearby the place I live.

I know some places with warm weather like texas etc. But I heard that weather over there is too hot and you cant go out.I know it is going to be difficult to find ideal place. Can you people please share your experiences and opinions with Pros and Cons of places you have lived or experienced in US.

Thanks in Advance
Daljeet

Some ignorant fool might have said that. Too hot to go out in Texas? Depends on what you mean by going out. Travel in car with AC works fine for most of the people. I used to drive a car during my student days with the windows down after the AC broke, I am still living!!! Now,Is that a miracle??

You need to google for that info.

Texas has 4 major cities (Sorry El Paso! :D). Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin.

Dallas used to be a major Telecom corridor with many tech companies.

Houston is more into manufacturing, petro-chemical sector.

San Antonio has few major employers including a big insurance company.

Austin has many semi-conductor companies.

You choose which one is good. I like everything about Texas!! May be I am biased :D

SF may be a problem these days, especially with the current job scenario.

Apart from that, its easy to commute in the area. Most people live in San Jose or nearby region.

In case you land in SF/SJ, send me a PM and I will get you connected to a lot of good people in the area who'll help you out very well.

Take care.

... very good idea. If you get a good deal, the house prices will go up by about 70-90% in three to four years.

Consider that on a $500,000 house, you can't make that easily elsewhere.

Good luck.
