My mother recently came to the USA from India on a visitor visa and her I-94 expires on Oct 23, 2002. Now I want to get my mother a Canadian visit visa so she can visit my wife's place (I recently got married and my wife is a Canadian citizen residing in Vancouver, BC). Based on my experience with the Canadian embassy for people travelling from the US, the validity of a regular Canadian visitor/tourist visa is limited to the validity of the I-94. But I want my mother to get a Canadian visa till end of November 2002 b'coz we have a family event scheduled during November. Is it possible for me to get this? What documents do I need to show to prove validity of stay in Canada? I would appreciate if you could give me some info.
