birth certificate

Hi,

Me & my wife are sponsoring my parents & unmarried sister to visit us in summer of 2004. I am on H-1B and she is on H4. They will be going to the Mumbai consulate for visa.

1. Do my parents & sister have to produce their birth certificates or is it only the sponsor's birth certificate that is required?

2. Does my wife also need to send her original birth ceritificate or only mine will suffice?
