Hi all
I am currently on H1 visa for the past 2 years.
I got married on December 17, 2003 and am planning to get my wife on H4 visa.
The first time we went to the US chennai consulate, my wife's visa got refused because of some missing document.

I am now currently in US and I have sent the required document by post to her..She was asked to put the same in dropbox at hyderabad which she did about 3 days back and we are still awaiting a reply from the consulate.

My question is, if my wife's visa gets refused by any other reason, is it possible that I get her here to US on a visitor visa and change her status to H4 visa by attending a US consulate in El Paso or Canada.

I really appreciate any help/inputs in this matter.
Has anyone in the past pursued this path or am I the first person to get this thought?

Please help...

Thanks,

Pavan

It is best that you get submit all required papers and get her into US on H4.

Getting H4 will be much easier than getting visitor visa.

And as long as your H1 is all OK, they would not deny H4.
