Would it be a problem is the return date you give in the I-94 card at the immigration control is not the same as the one on your return ticket? I found a really good deal on plane ticket to the US from France - where I currently reside, with the return date fixed at 2 months after the date of departure. The thing is that I would like to stay there for 6 months with my B1/B2 visa. I am willing to give up the return ticket and will buy a new plane ticket later when I'm there.

It is all subjective. It is very difficult to tell accurately whether there will be any problem or not in this case.

Thanks for the reply. When it comes to the US immigration we're always dealing with the gray area @#%$'t it? It doesn't help that many infos I found on the web - e.g. www.usembassy.org.uk/cons...c.htm#five (http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_web/faqs/niv/faq_misc.htm#five) state that return ticket might not even required for visa holders. I remember that last year when I went to the US the immigration officer didn't even ask to see my plane ticket, it always depend.
Perhaps anyone might also like to share some first-hand experiences on the subject?

Return ticket is not mandatory.
