I recently got my H1B visa extended. The old visa stamp has expired in my passport. I am planning to get my parents here to US and am sending them all the documents required. Is it ok if my passport has an expired H1B visa stamp? I will be sending them the copy of my new I-797 too, along with copy of my passport. They will be sending the applications to the chennai consulate.
Please let me know if someone else has faced similar situations.

Thank you

I-797 receipt should be fine. That is the proof of your legal status.

Stamp on your passport is really used for your entry into United States.

Good luck.

After they get visa but before they come here, consider buying visitor medical insurance for them, available at www.immihelp.com/insurance (http://www.insubuy.com) Various excellent companies, many choices, instant quotes and purchase, licensed agents. You can also call 1-866-INSU-BUY
