Can I apply for AOS for myself and later for my family members, after two months. Can they be outside USA when I apply for their AOS.

Also I would like to know for how many months my H1 is valid from the date of my application

For filing I-485, the person has to be in US.

You can file for their I-485 later provided they are in US.

After filing I-485, your H1 is valid as long as it would have been without filing I-485.
