Hi,
I came to US on 28th June 08 and working in Minneapolis till Date. Wat will be my filing status Resident or Non resident ?

i see in the IRS doc saying u should file as Dual Status or if u file as Resident all the worldwide income should be declared.

I am confused .... y should i so my income in India for the 1st 6 month and pay more Tax here.

Resident.

Even if you have to pay the tax on your worldwide income, you can claim foreign tax credit.

You just have to file 1040 (as a tax resident) and declare the income you earned in the US in 2008 (whatever shows in W2). Nothing else.
