Hello i am very new to all this visa business and find it very confusing :(

I am a UK citizen and so is my fiance, he has been offered a permenant position for his company in Long Beach, CA, therefore i need to know what i will require to migrate there with him? There are so many visas available etc.

On another website it states that a spouse is permitted to mirgrate to the US along with the principle applicant? Is this correct? And if so, will we have to marry before applying for this? I would also like to work.

I have never travelled to the US, but my fiance is there for 4 weeks at the moment and would very much like to try for a better lifestyle.

Please help.

Thank you :)

So i have looked into the E2 and it does state that a spouse can go over to the USA under the principle applicant, but spouse, that does mean wife doesnt it? So would i have to marry my finace before applying for this? Or do they accept fiance as a spouse?

Also i will require an Employment Authorisation in order to work, do i apply for this once i am in the USA or so i apply for it before i go?

What would be the best option for me? Would it be to go on a vistors visa for 90 days and then apply from there? And maybe marry once i am there in those 3 months, me and my partner have been together since we were 15 and were both now 25.

Thanks

Only immediate family members of E-2 visa holder can apply for an E2 dependent visa.
that means Spouse and children. Spouse means legally married.
the spouse can apply for work permit in the US, after getting SSN.
