Hi all - I'm currently in TN and getting H1 stamped for the first time.

Can anyone answer if we need to take an appointment when going for H1 stamping to the border?

What are the documents that need to be filled out (apart from taking the following documents)

* Form I-797 (the original Notice of Approval of the H-1B Petition).

* a valid Canadian passport - valid for at least six months beyond date of intended travel to the US

* a photocopy of the H-1B Visa Petition and supporting documents which were filed with CIS.

* several recent paystubs

* short confirmation of continued employment pursuant to the terms of the H-1B visa petition, in the form of a brief letter from the employer.

Thanks very much for your help.

Take your 1-797 papers and employment letters(optional) to the border POE or airport you land. No visa for H1B status for Canadians
