Hi,

I have a criminal record in canada and I applied for a waiver to enter us and I was accepted. I have 3 questions:
1) Can I apply for a tn visa with this waiver?
2) If yes to question 1) Can I apply at a port of entry to us from canada or should I go through the us consulate?
3) Should I submit the for DS-156 to either the consulate or the port of entry?

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi

I got a same question. Waiver should state exactly ( scope ) why it was issued. It would be nice to know if someone has done it actually and mention their experience or attempt here on a post . Also google for " My us waiver experience". Thanks

TN is a status not visa for Canadians. So you don't have to go to the consulate. You have to go to a POE like land border or airport to get your TN.
No DS-156 for TN. You have to go with your employment letter, Degree or Diploma credentials etc.
