Getting a SS Card

Good Day,

I am a US Citizen (born in DC), was adopted as a baby and brought to Bermuda. I was never issued a SSN but would like to work, buy a house and live in the US in the next year, how can I be issued a temporary SSN or what steps must I take to obtain a SSN?

If you are US citizen, approach the nearest social security office here in the US, show the proof of your citizenship and apply for SSN.
