I am traveling to Thailand for a job. I am an American citizen with a passport book. Do I need to obtain any kind of visa, (transit or otherwise) before I leave the U.S.?

If you are going to Thailand for a job, you need Thai visa.
Most likely, you don't need any transit visa to other countries.

thanks for telling me about the visa, i didn't know about this...my friend want to go in Thiland to work and hi didn't know anything about visa...thanks again!
