URGENT HELP: H1B expire before EAD/AP approved

My H1B expires 30th Sep, 2001 and I applied for my 485/EAD/AP today(10th July, 2001) which will reach INS office in a week I suppose. LCA for H1B Visa extension was filed on 7th May, 2001 and today my company informed that LCA was rejected because company laid off 50% staff and did salary cuts, so no way I can get H1B extension.

Now if I dont get EAD/AP before my H1B expires(I am sure I wont because it is just 70-75 days remaining) what are my options? Can I continue to stay in US and keep on working with same company till I get EAD/AP?

well if you have stay more than 6 y, maybe you want to find another job to get another H1 with a solid company, but it will cancel your current AOS . not a lawyer opinion, so check carefully

Sorry to know about your problem. Looks like we may have the same problem too. My hubby's H1 is expiring on 15th Sept 2001 and we have just filed !-485. We files LCA for extension of H1 in June 2001. Any idea how long the extension takes...how long did it take for you get any response?
