Hi
My L1 petition/I-94/visa has expired and my company has sent a new petition to INS and I am awaiting a receipt. For some personal emergency, I have to leave the country. Will be there be an issue with immigration
a) When I leave US?
b) When I come back to the country later?
I heard ppl advising me not to leave without a receipt since it will be marked as overstay and my next visa will be in jeopardy.

Please advise

Thanks,

a) No.
b) That depends upon whether you have visa stamp expired or not. If visa stamp is valid, you can reenter. Else you have to get it stamped first before entering.

I don't see any problem in leaving without receipt.
