laid off in jan 2009 and returned to india for the rest of the year.How do I file tax

Hi,
I was a H1B worker and worked from 2004 to 2009 jan in the US and came back to india for good.I have to now file my 2009 taxes. Do I file a I140 or the I1040NR for that one month.Please let me know.

I was in India in 2009 Jan from Dec 2008 as I was on bench but since I am an employee, I got paid for Jan 2009.

Check the substantial presence test of 180 days or less which will qualify for NR.
