I am a retired American citizen with sufficient documented financial means. I carry BUPA health insurance which provides worldwide coverage. I do not wish to work, study or conduct business. As an American citizen, I can stay in Schengen countries for a maximum of 90 days. I cannot find out how I can extend my stay beyond 90 days. The countries I wish to visit are Greece, France, Italy, and Germany. I also will be visiting friends in non-Schengen countries ( Ireland and the UK). For example, my airline ticket can be valid for one year and can be issued with an arrival into one country and a departure from another. Transportation between these other countries may be by rail, car, boar or air Please tell me if the Schengen visa will allow me to stay an additional 90 stays or what process must I follow inorder to stay one year in a variety of Schengen countries.
