  • Petitioner's Marriage Certificate required?

I am sponsoring my mother's immigration visa. Today, NVC sent me a query - missing document - "Petitioner Marriage Certificate"
why do they need MY (SON's) marriage certificate for Mother's Green card.

    Also,

who is the "Petitioner" if I am sponsoring my mother's Immigration Visa - just checking - in case I am too close to this application to forget / misunderstand meaning of that word.

    Thank you
    -A

You are the petitioner and they are asking for your marriage certificate.

Please provide whatever they are asking for.

      Thanks.
I have original certificate given by the court/marriage authority. How do I get a certified copy/true copy stamp on a photocopy of the original here in the US? who can do it? Public Notary?
      Thanks

if you go to the local city hall/vital records..they should be able to certify it.
be sure to call city/town hall and ask before.

        i found that by googling.

          Certified copy really means original.
