Hello all,

I am looking for some urgent information to help file for my parents green card. My father is 70 years old and mother is 64 years old.

1. My parents are here( California) from India. They are here for next 4 months. Should I apply the green card while they are here or should I apply when they go back to India. Are there any pro's and con's to the any approach ( easy to do, fees etc.)

2. When we file for Green card, is there any impact on my parents assets in India i.e. when they move money or sell assets in India, will they be charged taxes in USA too ?

3. Assuming they got green card, will they get medical benefits immediately in California from government or we have to arrange for insurance ourselves.

Thanks in advance for helping with the questions.

1. Either way.

2. No.
Tax is only on the income. Not on assets.

3.
Yourself.
