Hello,

I was hoping you could help me with this. As a recent college grad, I put in an application for I-765 employment authorization for opt. I already have a job offer however and I have to be able to accept the job and I can't do that if I don't have the I-765. I called uscis and they said that if I believe it qualified under the criteria of an emergency situation they can process it faster. My questions for help from you are:

1. For me it is an emergency because this job is starting soon as well as many other jobs in the field I'm applying to: they're all state colleges and specifically the positions require the person to start/early august and therefore I would not be able to take the job up so for me it is sort of an emergency situation. So should I state to them that I think it's an emergency?

2. If I do that and they don't believe it truly qualifies under emergency: would it negatively affect my application?

I really thank you for all you do through this webstie and I would greatly appreciate your help. If there is a way you accept small donations or anything please let me know and I would be glad to donate to your causes.

Thank you sincerely.

I don't think there is any such thing as emergency processing of I-765.
