Dear Sir

I got your email address from your website. I have lost my passport and form i-94 between virginia- Washitngton DC. Unfortunately the neither the indian embassy, nor the 911 is registering our report of loss. In order to get a new passport issued we need to register the FIR. Please can you guide us with the appropriate authority. This is very urgent since we are supposed to fly back to India from the USA on the 5th.

Regards

You need to contact the local police station to report the loss of passport.

Dear Sir

The local police here is not registering the complaint. The Indian Consulate is also not able to tlet us know the proper authority to report. I can be issued another passport only if i have the report in place. I spoke to 911 non emergency butthey are also not able to tell. IDAHO avenue also doesn not register reports like these any more.

I have another concern, i am afraid that if our passports are misused, we do not have any thing on record to prove that we have reported the loss. We are really scared and dont know what to do?

Would really appreciate your guidance.

Regards

1. Go to another police station and register the theft. If necessary explain that you need a police report to obtain a replacement passport. Be polite; it usually works.

2. Take whatever paperwork you have to the Indian Embassy and apply for a new passport.

3. Contact USCIS for a replacement I-94.

4. When you get that done, make copies of the documents and keep them somewhere safe. You could also make scans of them and email them to yourself so you could have access to them at any time.
