Hi,

I am on a work visa in US. My daughter was born here and holds a US passport. I heard from people around that she cannot be called a US citizen till she is 18.
I am not sure I understand all this. Can someone please help?

Unless you are a foreign diplomat with diplomatic immunity, your child born in the U.S. is a citizen. She has a U.S. Birth Certificate and NEVER has to deal with USCIS.

She may require a visa to visit your home country. Vist your country's consular website about that. She may be considered a foreign student for tuition purposes in your country or you can look into "dual citizenship" possibilities in your home country.
