I would like to sponser my sister who is illegal. Her marriage is on the rocks and her citizen husband of two years has refused to assist her file. She recently completed her masters degree and has lived in the country for 10 years . Her daughter was born here in the states. I am willing to file the immigrant petition for her but my fear is that she might be deported if the petition is denied. Can one file for an illegal relative? I am a American citizen.
