I am new to the whole consulting thing...been a full-time-employee for the past 3 years..

I am doubtfull on what to expect if I change to consulting w.r.t taxes, any clarification would greatly help...I have the following questions:

My future employer is offering me an X$/hr corp-to-corp or Y$/year on w2:

I think the only difference here is that on corp-to-corp I would pay all taxes out of my pocket and if I am on w2 I would receive the salary after the taxes are paid. Is this correct?
Being a full-time-employee on H1B I currently pay ~26% tax on my salary, how would that change if I am on corp-to-corp vs w2?
For w2 the tax % would still stay the same even if its consulting, Is this correct?
What is the rough % of salary that goes to taxes while on corp-to-corp?

Please share any info that might help, thank you.

If you are on H1, you can only be W-2 employee, and not corp-to-corp.

Immihelp is right. You are only allowed to work as an employee. The immigration attorneys that I talk to believe that you cannot start a corporation and work as an employee of that corporation while on an H1b visa.
