Hello,

I have couple of questions to ask and need some opinion...
Lost my passport in the US, got a duplicate one. But it does not have US visa on it. Currently I am in OPT, is it safe only if have a permanent job or even having contract job in hand is good to travel. Is it better to travel after working for one or two months? Is there anything else that I should know to tackle this situation.

Thanks in advance,
K

First apply for duplicate I-94 if you have lost that with the old passport.
Then whenever you travel you will need valid F1 Visa, I-20 with travel signature, EAD card and job offer letter to return.

Thanks for your response.

I got a copy of my I-94 form and I was wondering how safe it is to travel on OPT without having H1B filled.

Thanks again!

You will need to get F1 visa in order to return in F1 status and there is always a risk involved in F1 application.

Is there any way out to avoid that risk

No way, other than not leaving the US.
