Hello,
My wife was here on a H4. After getting admission to an university here, she went to India and got a F-1 visa stamped. She also got a letter stating that she cannot use the F-1 earlier than 30 days of the program's start date. Since her H4 visa was still valid, she was able to enter using that visa to the US. Now, when she contacted the university's international affairs, they say that her F-1 is no longer valid since she came in using the H-4. We thought that she could get the status changed by sending the relevant documents to the INS.
Does anyone have any experience in this regard? Will she have to re-do her F-1 process all over again?
Thanks,
Prs.
