OPT approval

Hi,

Is it necessary that applicant to be in US at the time of approval of OPT. My OPT application is pending, can I visit my home country and come back later with the notice of action and an offer letter in hand??

That's said to be dangerous. If you want to come back after the approval, you should have a letter from your employer with your EAD card (ask your friend to mail it to your home country).
