I'm applying for a tourist visa for medical reasons. I am going through a period of mental and physical exhaustion and after several consultations with my doctor, he decided I need some time away as I am not fit to return to work here in my home country. He wrote a letter for my visa interview explaining all this and that he recommends I have some time away with my family and friends in the USA. When I say family, I mean 1 brother but I've lots of friends there. The doctor also wrote that he recommends I go for 4 to 6 months and that in his opinion, it will help me recover and return to Ireland in good shape and ready to return to the workforce I dont have a job but he means returning into the jobs market. I was previously working for 10 year up to October 2011). I have never seen anyone applying for a visa for this kind of reason and am afraid that they might see my medical reasons as being not very legitimate or plausible reason to approve my visa. However, I my above reason for applying for the B2 is totally genuine. I was just hoping some of you would have an opinion on how the Visa Officer will react to this. I see it as being very elgitimate but he may not. I have all other documents to prove my ties like my house and my Son and my Attorney's letter confirming both.

Please let me know what u think about this?

Ireland is a visa waiver country. Why don't you go on the visa waiver ( without a visa)? You can spend 3 months there.
Please note that if a visa is denied , which can be with your circumstances, you may also have difficulty entering on the visa waiver.

If you want to visit the U.S. for 4 to 6 months, you can't enter through the visa waiver program.

It would be quite difficult for you to get the visa in your situation as you don't have the job to go back to.
