Your relatives cannot legally force you to return to India, nor "legally" take your baby from you without court intervention.

To protect yourself and your child, you need to find a "neutral" location where you can't be hurt or pressured and where you can obtain good legal advice. A woman's shelter is the most immediate possibility for the type of protection and advice you need. Please tell us in what city you are in or close to and locations/contact information for shelters can be given to you.

Yes, but you will need to obtain legal help to complete the Adjustment o Status, or to self-petition as an abused spouse.

The links I gave you earlier will provide referrals to legal help in your area. Such specialized help is usually provided as a service by law students.

                        Last minute help?

Thanks in advance to all who take the time to read this.
I have somewhat of an urgent problem that I’m hoping I can get some feedback on here.* I received an RFE saying I did not submit a copy of my physical green card and I must send it by 1-Apr-14.* I am applying to remove my conditional residence via marriage which is completely legit and we have a two year old son together.* My problem is that I lost my actual green card and don’t know how to proceed or who I can contact at USCIS to inquire.* I can only find recordings at all the numbers.*
Anyhow, it’s my understanding that my conditional residence green card expires after the two year period which has passed.* Given my financial situation I have procrastinated in replacing it as it’s $485, and if it is expired, I figured I do not need to pay that to replace it.
Is there anything I can do to satisfy the RFE or do I need to buy replacement card?* And now as I have left it down to the wire, have I screwed myself?* I have completely legit and happy marriage and family, but I am scared I may be jeopardizing my situation by being so late against the deadline?* Has anyone else been through anything similar?* How did it get resolved??
Any help is VERY MUCH appreciated!
                        Best Regards,

If you respond to the RFE with a message that you lost your Green Card and do not have a copy of it, one or two responses are likely:

                          1. Your I-751 procedure will be denied, though you can later reapply when you have a copy of the card.
                          2. You will be asked to provide a receipt for a replacement card (I-90).

You really have no choice but to respond to the RFE before the deadline, and it is even possible that they will give you a pass.

So the receipt of the I90 what you are saying is regardless I must pay the $485 to replace?

                            Thanks for the reply.

Not necessarily. What I suggested is that you respond to the RFE BEFORE THE DEADLINE and explain that the Green Card was lost, then see how they will respond to you. But not responding by the deadlline will definitely get you a denial and loss of the $590 fee you paid.

                              --Ray B

Since you are already out $570, to spend any more money until you are sure of the outcome would be premature.
