How do i return back to USA

I an MS student from USA, who was in his last semester during fall 2013 (Aug-Dec 2013). I had applied for graduation, and was on a full course load. My graduation was also approved in that semester. But due to some academic problem, i took an incomplete in one of the courses. As a result i could not graduate by the end of the semester. My i20 also expired by the semester end, and consequently i had to return back to my home country. The course instructor agreed to allow me to complete the course remotely from my country. Now after completing that course, my graduation requirements are complete, but i have NOT applied for graduation yet.

My aim is i need to get my OPT approved in USA, for which i did not apply before coming back, as i was unsure of graduation. Now, to apply for OPT i need to re-enter into USA.


My questions are as follows:

1) Can i enter back into US to do an additional course(though it is not required for me) and then apply for my graduation and OPT? Can i get a new i-20 for this?

2) My F1 visa stamp is valid upto July 2015 and i have been away from the student status for < 5 months. If option 1 is possible, Do i need to get a new Visa?

3) Instead of taking a new course and an I20 for that, Can i reenter US on a B1 (Tourist), apply for OPT, get EAD card and a job offer letter, exit US and then reenter USA with the past F1, EAD and offer letter to work?

How do i return back to USA

Find a institute or a school who offers esl classes who can give you a new I 20 , there are so many schools in illinois I don't knw where you r located but with that at least u get time to stay here n get close to your goal and not waste your money high credit hour courses ,if not u want to return to your country 50/50 chances to renter, do it as soon as possible, anything is possible here but if u return no guarantee ..or the best option for a studeny is get married to a citizen that will fix everything , no ead straight gc
