Change of Status -processing time and requirement of being in status
Hello Forum members,
I wanted to know (1) how much time is required for change of status and (2) if it is required to be in status-
before getting approval of the new visa status for the following two cases:
1. H1-B to J2 visa
or
2. J1 to H4 visa.
I am on H1-B visa and my spouse is on J1 visa and both our jobs are ending in a few months.
I am looking for options in case one of us find a new job and if that happens, if one of us can convert our status to dependent so that we can stay in US without going back.
