Employer not calling, having valid H1B Visa

Hi,

I have few doubts that I need to clarify:

1) I am having valid H1b visa stamped from October 2013 and my employer is not yet calling me to USA.Right now they are not having projects so they are not calling me there. Please let me know if there is any alternate solution means can I transfer my visa without intimating my current employer or is it feasible to wait for some more time since I am already waiting from last 7-8 months.

2) Another question is that the validity of my H1B visa. Will it be considered the day I landed in USA or the day the visa is stamped?

Yes, any other employer can apply a new H1cap exempt petition based on the approved petition.
