  • DS-230 form

Hey guys I'm the petitioner and having problems filling out the ds 230 from line 19-28. I'm I suppose to put my parents info or my wife's?

  • #2
The DS-230 is not used anymore. The DS-260, an online form, has replaced the DS-230, and it is completed after you pay the $230 visa fee to the NVC.

Where are you getting your information?

Are you petitioning someone outside the U.S., or is he applicant now in the U.S.?

Any references you are reading whcih mention the DS-230 are at least a year out of date.

You may be misinterpreting the instructions for the NVC step. Scanning only applies to a few countries.

            1. There is no DS-230 in use anymore.

            2. What is your country of processing?

You don't scan documents unless your country is one of the few that are included in the scanning program by the NVC.

TELL ME YOUR SPOUSE'S COUNTRY SO THAT I CAN ANSWER YOUR QUESTION ABOUT SCANNING SUBMITTAL

Since your spouse's county is Senegal and her State Department case number begins with "DKR," you cannot submit copies of her documents as scanned by email.

You must submit original certified versions by postal mail to the National Visa Center after you pay the $230 immigrant visa fee.

To submit by scanning and email, the State Department case number must begin by any of the following acronyms: AKD, AMM, DMS, GZO, MEP, SAA. If GUZ or MTL, you can submit either way.
