  • Sent in my i-751 - What happens next?

    Hi,

I have just sent in my i-751 with all the evidence possible, tenancy contract, medical and car insurance, joint mailing address proof, joint utility bill, joint bank statements, joint travel, proof of our sons birth and any procedures we have done together for him, proof of our relationship through pictures, etc. My expiry of my card is on 7 november 2014. My application reached them today so basically it got to them 78 days prior to expiry (i was waiting on our latest utility bill to come through).

I wanted to know what the procedure is, if all goes well. I know they will send me a form extending my residence for 1 year? However if all were to go well, do you know how long it takes to get the biometrics, then approval? I wanted to travel and just wanted to make sure I am not away during this time.

Will be good to hear your experiences (if you submitted similar proof as evidence).

    Thanks

Your email/text confirmation of receipt will show up in about 10-15 days, if you included form G-1145 with your submittal, followed a week or two later by a hardcopy receipt containing info describing the 1-year extension to your conditional status.

The Biometrics appointment should show about 4 -6 weeks after your submittal.

Timeframe, unless an Evidence Request is received, could be 4-12 months, depending on area of the country.
