L1 A (Blanket) - Administrative Processing
I have attended the VISA interview on 4th September at Chennai consulate and got a blue slip with the status as Administrative Processing. Here are the chronology of the events happened that day...
Along with my wife we went for a L1A (Blanket) and L2 VISA interview at Chennai consulate, our appointment was at 11:00 AM. After completing the initial checks (security, etc) we were allowed inside. The moment we entered we were asked which category are we applying and when we said L, they asked us to sit so that someone would help us with documents. Then one guy turns up and asked me to take out 3 sets of I797 and I129 forms, which he then clubbed with all our passports (incl my two kids) with a band. We then paid fraud verification fee at one of the counters and moved to the next counter for interview.
We greeted the VO and he was busy on his workstation, so had asked us to wait for a couple of mins, post which he had taken our passports. He then asked my wife what was her highest degree and age of our children, to which she responded calmly.
He then asked me if I was a manager and I said that am a head of a department. He asked me a couple of questions reg my job and I gave positive responses. This happened for about 2-3mins and most of the time he was looking up on his workstation for some data..
After a while he asked me if I was carrying my resume and I said I didn't, then he said I can mail it to him... He took out a blue form and said he will retain the passports but would need some time to review our request. In the meantime we will be getting a mail to which he had asked me to send my resume and other documents.
I received a standard mail from Chennai Admin id that evening and I had sent him all the documents immdtly.
In case any of you are sailing in the same boat then pls share your experience and we can all pray together (guess that's the only option we have, atleast that's what I could get after reading other blogs on the Internet)
