Hi,
First I would like to wish everyone a very happy new year!!!
I am an Indian citizen currently on STEM OPT in USA. I have a Masters degree in Archaeology from a US university.
The US staffing company who hired me will file again for my H1-b visa but it will go to the lottery system. ( I didn't get it the first time )
My field work is in a remote location in California and I also teach Geography and Conceptual Archaeology at a high school close to my work site (as an independent contractor).
The high school is affiliated to a non profit research university in California and they are very much in need of a good Geography/Archaeology teacher.
The school told me to get CA teaching credentials and they will hire me full time furthermore, apply for H1-b cap exempt category.
Can anyone please tell me if I can take CA teaching credentials while on OPT ? I can definitely do it part time, the school confirmed that they will pay tuition and all relocation expenses if I am going to take the teaching credentials.
Thank you!
